This thesis work concerns the development of electrochemical enzyme-based biosensors for the determination of analytes of alimentary and biomedical interest. Suitable monomers for obtaining polymer films directly on the electrode surfaces were synthesized and characterized. Some biosensors have been developed for the determination of histamine, epinephrine and dopamine. The latter were tested from the point of view of linear response, LoD, LoQ, selectivity and recovery tests on real matrices such as pharmaceutical formulations, leading to good results, comparable to those reported in literature. Kinetic and biochemical parameters were also investigated in order to obtain information on the type of process, as well as on the retention of enzyme activity and on the efficiency of the polymer films as enzyme anchoring supports.
