It’s a wide dissertation about many features involved with Supply Chain, with the purpose of defining its correct reference terminology (from both an academic and a literal point of view). After giving a wide overview of the feature of adaptability in Supply Chain, the phenomenon of Reshoring in the US is shown as a possible implication. A survey in many important industrial areas is made to obtain a new framework of reference in North America. Then the following paper “From re-shoring to reg-shoring: the supply chain design adaptability challenge”. Reshoring will result as a phenomenon which pulls up alongside with a kind of “Regionalization”, something that will solve problems connected to Supply Chain on a global scale. After this topic the dissertation turns back to the adaptability of a structure through Supply Chain, underlining the importance of this theme for successful companies which works in very changeable contexts. At least, “Adaptability into Supply Chain Strategy: the adaptable PCSA framework”: this paper wants to be a methodological instrument to support the companies which aim to define their own Supply Chain Strategy (in a reactive and adaptable way). Conclusions include new considerations and new ideas, starting point for a future investigation.

Abstract
The present PhD’s aim is to investigate the complexity of the events that take place concerning Supply Chain Adaptability. During this research the following papers have been written: 1. “Main supply chain features: a literature review” [Called as “Paper 1”] 2. “From re-shoring to reg-shoring: the supply chain design adaptability challenge” [Called as “Paper 3”] 3. “Adaptability into Supply Chain Strategy: the adaptable PCSA framework” [Called as “Paper 2”] The work begins with “Main supply chain features: a literature review“. It’s a work which aims to go deep into the issue of Reshoring: thanks to a wide dataset which collects the costs of a multitude of industries across 15 years, the feature of this phenomenon is precisely defined. Conclusions include new considerations and new ideas, starting point for a future investigation.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
