The EU system of protection of the geographical indication for wines is an important instrument for adding value to the agricultural production. In these recent years, it has been the focus of a radical reform, which was introduced with the aim of bringing unity to the European quality policy. For this reason, the study of the scheme based on PDO and PGI concerning wines cannot neglect an analysis of the current regulation on the protection of geographical indications and designations of origin for agricultural products and foodstuffs, nor a study of the tools available at the international level to ensure a protection to the qualitative excellence of the European agriculture outside the borders of the EU.

Abstract
The EU system of protection of the geographical indication for wines is an important instrument for adding value to the agricultural production. In these recent years, it has been the focus of a radical reform, which was introduced with the aim of bringing unity to the European quality policy. For this reason, the study of the scheme based on PDO and PGI concerning wines cannot neglect an analysis of the current regulation on the protection of geographical indications and designations of origin for agricultural products and foodstuffs, nor a study of the tools available at the international level to ensure a protection to the qualitative excellence of the European agriculture outside the borders of the EU.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
