The thesis is an investigation on some one degree of freedom models of driven oscillators which describe the interaction of an intense, short, laser pulse with both solid and clustered matter. By means of methods of the Hamiltonian perturbation theory we provide an almost rigurous description of the dynamics close to a resonance. Moreover we study the invariant set structures related to the pattern of singularities seen in the scattering function which describes the dynamics of the models when they experience an ionization process after they cross a resonance.

Abstract

The thesis is an investigation on some one degree of freedom models of driven oscillators which describe the interaction of an intense, short, laser pulse with both solid and clustered matter. By means of methods of the Hamiltonian perturbation theory we provide an almost rigurous description of the dynamics close to a resonance. Moreover we study the invariant set structures related to the pattern of singularities seen in the scattering function which describes the dynamics of the models when they experience an ionization process after they cross a resonance.
