The survey about the concept of the school that emerges from the pages of “Ricerche Pedagogiche”, has acknowledged three main areas, which are based on different thinking approaches about education and the world of formation/training, organization theory, Educational experimentalism and Educational Science. Inquiry methodology basically deals with the conceptual pairs, referring respectively to the relation: . Paradigm/model i.e. the theoretical construction and historically determined realization and of the paradigm or ideal; . School/education/Educational Science, i. e. among the science that studies education on an ideal level; the conceptual object of this science and at last, the school as a privileged place where the ideal of education is pursued; . Finally, without educational science, as this survey suggests, the ideal dimension of education disappears; thus, it is reduced to the rank of a simple shape, with the loss of the meaning of infinite improvement of the individual and the community to which it belongs; . Education-policy, which is given as the inescapable ratio, meaning by politics the management of the res publica, in clear reference to the meaning of polis, favoured by Genovesi: the community can survive and ameliorate through education. In fact, this makes people aware of the fact that the individual passes from the social welfare and, through improved rational quality, by the educational process, individuals become capable of making ethical choices, because righteousness is needed. Therefore, the survey suggested that among the three different approaches education, only educational science is crossed by a permanent utopian tension to overpass the data and the obvious, since education can only be understood as irrepressible aspiration to what is not there, however highly desirable that it was.
