This dissertation is aiming at several objectives through a multi-disciplinary approach to the subject of tomb mural paintings in Ancient Egypt. The primary objective is divided into two directions; the first is studying the techniques the ancient Egyptians used for the tombs they built in the Theban Necropolis through surveying the literature and a sample of tombs, the second is the micro scale case study of the research where it is applied on the wall tombs of Theban Tomb 14 (TT 14). The main research aimed also at two sub-objectives: 1) survey of the mud plaster technique observed in visited tombs of a chosen sample. 2) Provision of the basic data for a future management plan of the mural paintings of Theban Tomb 14 through monitoring their preservation status.
