Abstract
In the context of a broad scientific movement, philosophical, political and cultural aimed at tracing the guidelines for a sustainable development has imposed the voice of the Catholic Church. Through its magisterium has identified a way to respond to the new social challenges caused by the environmental crisis, proposing its own peculiar ecological vision essentially based on the divine plan of creation. Not only the attention to the topic has been imposed at the central level thanks to the papal magisterium and the Roman Curia, but also at the peripheral level in the structures that make the teaching of the Church alive and operational: the synods and the episcopal conferences. In this sense the affirmation of the ecological question has accompanied a process of ecclesial reform that is changing the way the Church acts within itself and in relations with the political community. Pontifical diplomacy, present in international institutions, among which the United Nations Organization and its specialized agencies stand out, has not failed to propose, on the occasion of the most significant global summits, a reading ethically oriented and focused on the protection of human dignity, that allowed the Holy See to participate in the construction of international principles in environmental matters.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
