Cultural heritage represents a fundamental aspect of a society's identity and history. However, its enjoyment and dissemination can be limited by various challenges, including physical accessibility, audience engagement, and artifact preservation. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of using digital tools, particularly virtual fruition and Serious Games, to address such challenges and enhance cultural heritage within museum settings. Through a literature review and case study analysis, best practices in the use of digital tools for the enhancement and dissemination of cultural heritage are identified and examined. Specifically, the ways in which virtual fruition enables overcoming limitations related to distance and physical accessibility, providing audiences with immersive and engaging experiences, are explored. Furthermore, the role of Serious Games in engaging audiences through interactivity and gamification is examined, offering educational and entertaining experiences that promote the learning and preservation of historical and cultural knowledge. Finally, based on the conducted analyses, guidelines and recommendations are proposed for the development and implementation of museum projects based on virtual fruition and Serious Games, aiming to promote the creation of museums of the future capable of offering innovative, accessible, and engaging cultural experiences for an increasingly broad and diversified audience.
Il patrimonio culturale rappresenta un aspetto fondamentale dell'identità e della storia di una società. Tuttavia, la sua fruizione e divulgazione possono essere limitate da diverse sfide, tra cui l'accessibilità fisica, il coinvolgimento del pubblico e la conservazione dei manufatti. Questo studio si propone di esplorare l'efficacia dell'utilizzo di strumenti digitali, in particolare della fruizione virtuale e dei Serious Game, per affrontare tali sfide e per valorizzare il patrimonio culturale in ambito museale. Attraverso una revisione della letteratura e l'analisi di casi studio, vengono identificate e analizzate le buone pratiche nell'utilizzo di strumenti digitali per la valorizzazione e la divulgazione del patrimonio culturale. In particolare, si esaminano le modalità in cui la fruizione virtuale consente di superare le limitazioni legate alla distanza e all'accessibilità fisica, offrendo al pubblico esperienze immersive e coinvolgenti. Inoltre, viene esaminato il ruolo dei Serious Game nel coinvolgimento del pubblico attraverso l'interattività e la gamification, fornendo esperienze educative e divertenti che favoriscono l'apprendimento e la conservazione delle conoscenze storiche e culturali. Infine, sulla base delle analisi condotte, vengono proposte linee guida e raccomandazioni per lo sviluppo e l'implementazione di progetti museali basati su fruizione virtuale e Serious Game, al fine di promuovere la creazione di musei del futuro in grado di offrire esperienze culturali innovative, accessibili e coinvolgenti per un pubblico sempre più ampio e diversificato.
