In recent years some particular forms of addiction have developed, the "New Addiction", in which the use of a chemical is not involved, but one or more lawful / legal and socially recognized activities. These behaviors, while being considered as normal habits or activities of daily life, can for some individuals become real addictions, which upset and invalidate the existence of the person and his system of relationships. Behavioral addictions are manifested in the urgent need to have to practice an activity to satisfy an uncontrollable impulse, unaware that all this will lead to self-destruction. Therefore, even if there is no intake of chemicals, the phenomenological picture is very similar to that of drug addiction and alcoholism. These new addictions cross each other, or are accompanied by addictions to substances; for example, the association of Pathological Gambling and Addiction to Alcohol or between gambling, the internet, video games and smartphones is very frequent.
