La forma del viaggio. Per una proposta teorica del reportage

This work aims to investigate reportage by proposing a critical-theoretical methodological approach. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter introduces the research topic and the spatio-temporal boundaries of reportage, that is, the reportage of Italian writers who have written about America throughout the twentieth century and up to the closest contemporary. It proposes a definition of reportage distinguished into "narrative," "literary," and "fictional." The second chapter, of an applied nature, is devoted to testing the theory's hold on the test of texts. The third chapter, the last, pulls the strings and suggests a theory of the reportage form. The research aims to fill a gap identified in theoretical contributions on a genre that is as much frequented as it is under-studied by critics.

Il presente lavoro si propone di indagare il reportage proponendo un approccio metodologico di tipo critico-teorico. La tesi si articola in tre capitoli. Il primo capitolo introduce il tema di ricerca e i confini spazio-temporali dei reportage, ovvero i reportage di scrittori italiani che hanno scritto dell’America nel corso del Novecento e fino alla più stretta contemporaneità. Propone una definizione di reportage distinta in “narrativo”, “letterario”, “romanzato”. Il secondo capitolo, di natura applicativa, è dedicato alla verifica della tenuta della teoria alla prova dei testi. Il terzo capitolo, l’ultimo, tira le fila e suggerisce una teoria della forma reportage. La ricerca si propone di colmare una lacuna ravvisata nei contributi teorici su un genere tanto frequentato quanto poco studiato dalla critica.
