The overarching scope of this research is the design, synthesis and assessment of various systems wherein sigma-hole interactions control or affect the recognition processes in solution and/or the packing and self-assembly in the solid. The study will encompass a wide range of molecular modules, used to build the systems, and of analytical techniques, used to link the formation of the interactions, and their relative strength, with molecular and macroscopic properties. Remembering that the functional properties are related to the structural features in any system, the aim is to obtain instruments enabling for an optimized design and realization of molecular materials and bioactive compounds.

Abstract
The overarching scope of this research is the design, synthesis and assessment of various systems wherein sigma-hole interactions control or affect the recognition processes in solution and/or the packing and self-assembly in the solid. The study will encompass a wide range of molecular modules, used to build the systems, and of analytical techniques, used to link the formation of the interactions, and their relative strength, with molecular and macroscopic properties. Remembering that the functional properties are related to the structural features in any system, the aim is to obtain instruments enabling for an optimized design and realization of molecular materials and bioactive compounds.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
