Re-interpreting the relation between water and urban planning. The case of Dar es Salaam city

This research deals with the relation between the development of the city and the water system. In particular the work tries to bridge the gap between the planning discipline and the studies among water provision and discharge, an engineeristic domain since Industrial Revolution. The case study for the present research is a rapid urbanizing african city: Dar es Salaam.

Il lavoro di ricerca indaga la relazione tra lo sviluppo della città e il sistema delle acque e in particolare cerca di ricomporre la frattura tra disciplina urbanistica e lo studio di sistemi di approvvigionamento e scarico delle acque. Lo studio si occupa di città a rapido sviluppo urbano, e il campo di indagine è Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
