Massimo Bontempelli e la cultura primonovecentesca: fra teoria e prassi attraverso riviste, lettere e amicizie

L'elaborato si propone di delineare un profilo aggiornato dello scrittore Massimo Bontempelli indagando alcuni aspetti della sua vasta ed eterogenea produzione e ponendo l'attenzione sui rapporti che egli intrattenne con importanti intellettuali della società italiana degli anni Venti e Trenta. La prima parte della trattazione si sofferma sul progetto editoriale di «900. Cahiers d'Italie et d'Europe», la rivista che Bontempelli fondò nel 1926 e che fu attiva fino al 1929, approfondendo i legami che tale pubblicazione intrattenne con altri periodici del tempo e la ricezione che essa ebbe in Francia. Lo studio si concentra in seguito su alcuni testi drammaturgici bontempelliani (in particolar modo pièces prodotte nel quinquennio 1921-1926) e sul legame artistico e personale che unì lo scrittore novecentista a Luigi Pirandello. L'ultima parte dell'elaborato approfondisce l'eredità lasciata dai «Cahiers» e si interroga sulla fortuna della drammaturgia bontempelliana in Italia e all'estero. The dissertation aims to outline an updated profile of Massimo Bontempelli by investigating aspects of his vast and heterogeneous production and focusing on his relationships with important intellectuals of the Italian society in the 1920s and 1930s. The first part of the work focuses on «900. Cahiers d'Italie et d'Europe», the magazine that Bontempelli founded in 1926 and whose publications continued until 1929, delving into its links with other periodicals of the time and its reception in France. The study then analyzes some of Bontempelli's dramaturgical texts (especially those produced in the five-year period 1921-1926) and the artistic and personal ties that united the author with Luigi Pirandello. The last part of the dissertation explores the legacy left by the «Cahiers» and questions the fortune of Bontempelli's dramaturgy in Italy and abroad.
