Acqua, uomini e città nella regio X. Un confronto urbanistico degli approvvigionamenti idrici delle città romane nell'Italia settentrionale: i casi di Brixia e Verona.

The thesis analyses water and men relationship in ancient times, examining two towns of northern Italy: Brescia and Verona. The methodological approach was defined as 'water urbanism' because the interpretation of planning choices, determined by water presence/absence, was the main purpose of the investigation. I analysed various water aspects: natural element (rivers), form of supply (aqueducts) and urban management tools (sewers), evaluating urban and countryside transformations. I catalogued collected data, also using an open access WebGIS (Google MyMaps) which facilitates the consultation of the results. I placed the analysis inside a broad chronological period, examining the urban developments of the two towns from a diachronic perspective, but placing a more marked emphasis on the Roman phase.
