The purpose of this thesis is to create an operational business model to contribute to the value creation of cultural organizations with the goal of enhancing the enhancement of cultural heritage. The model was built from an ancient principle found in the Rule of St. Benedict, a precursor to today's sustainability: Stabilitas. Stabilitas, in order to be translated into a model table to offer concrete support for cultural organizations, needs to be transposed into operational terms. The transposition was done by defining first principles (Bond with the territory, Future orientation, Noodiversity, Generativity) and then its pillars of the model (Local Stakeholders, Strategy and business model, Innovation, Impact on the territory, Governance model). The model was applied to three case studies, adopting qualitative research methodologies Teatro Regio di Parma, Farm Cultural Park and Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci. The analysis of the individual case studies, and their subsequent comparison, made it possible to carry out a qualitative analysis, showing the peculiarities of the pillars of the model, analyzing their common features for each cultural organization, as well as providing specific suggestions for each of them in order to enhance their sustainability performance.

The principle of “Stabilitas” as a new model of cultural heritage valorisation. “A comparison of experiences”.
