Abstract

Finally, in the third part of the research emerged theories are tested through the interpretative models, derived from the most significant design experience implemented in Alpine area from 1981 to today. The numerous writings, that in various ways have deepened the four themes, are compared by relating theoretical positions with some significant design experience. It emerges that the reality of the context, derived from the characters of landscape place and tradition, manifests itself through precise procedures, transgressions, contamination and new synthesis involving emotional and inventive ability of architect. While on the one hand, are crucial in the design process the influence of the physical and cultural context, on the other, are also decisive the new data inputs from the imagination of designer, from his personal point of view, from the confluence of different experiences and different places, from the contamination of new technology and materials, from the intermingling of different cultures and traditions. Memory and imagination become the keys to the mystery of artistic creation. The creative process is rooted in physical and cultural context, it actively involves the rational sphere, such as emotional, and determine an "original synthesis" between the past and invention, which it does not reject tradition but it "assimilates" it.
