This study also provided insights for the distribution of Triassic evaporites in the pre-orogenic sedimentary architecture of the Adria passive margin that is now deformed in the internal domains of the Northern Apennines. In particular, some experiments of the cycle 2 showed that the southern Tuscan domain could have evaporites at the base of the carbonates, which diminished in thickness towards the north (Lunigiana), while at the base of the La Spezia basinal succession, evaporites could have had a reduced thickness or being completely missing. Finally, the comparison between the experimental wedged performed in this work and regional geological sections of the Northern Appennine, showed a good correspondence.
