The thesis of PhD of Sandro Petrucci - Cagliari in the 1300's. Politics, institutions, economy and society. From the Aragonese conquest to the war between Arborea and Aragon (1323-1365) -intends to reconstruct both the main features and the political events of a regal city in the first decades of the Aragonese domination in Sardinia. After having examined the methods of construction of a new city, through the formulation of its †œconstitution† and through the inhabiting of the castle by the Catalan people - a long complex process, examined also taking into consideration the social origins of the pobladors - the study intends to define the limits of the municipal power compared with the regal one, deepening some fields (city taxes, food politics). It follows the examination of the political and mercantile managing ranks from which it turns out that, if the magistracies were only assigned to the Catalans, then an important role was carried out by a large groups of Pisani and Sardinians in the local market. From the pages of the thesis a picture of the society of the Sardinian city emerges which is more articulated than that which has been described up to now by historiography. A wide range of sources, published and unknown, coming from the Barcelonian, Sardinian and Pisani archives, has been used and thanks to those it has been partially possible to overcome the difficulties deriving from the famous documentary shortage that has always made it particularly difficult to realize the social history of a Sardinian city.

Abstract
A wide range of sources, published and unknown, coming from the Barcelonian, Sardinian and Pisani archives, has been used and thanks to those it has been partially possible to overcome the difficulties deriving from the famous documentary shortage that has always made it particularly difficult to realize the social history of a Sardinian city.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
