The quality of the delivered health care in pediatrics is very variable and Quality Improvement (QI) research plays an increasingly important role in public health. Pediatric Infectious Diseases (PID) offer different models of care, ranging from chronic/complex diseases with social and economic implications to acute conditions, each with specific need for improvement. Aim of the work in this thesis was to design and apply specific QI strategies to three disease models in PID, such as pediatric HIV, tuberculosis and acute gastroenteritis, bridging the gap between expected and observed outcomes and leading to translation of scientific evidence to everyday practice.

Abstract
The quality of the delivered health care in pediatrics is very variable and Quality Improvement (QI) research plays an increasingly important role in public health. Pediatric Infectious Diseases (PID) offer different models of care, ranging from chronic/complex diseases with social and economic implications to acute conditions, each with specific need for improvement. Aim of the work in this thesis was to design and apply specific QI strategies to three disease models in PID, such as pediatric HIV, tuberculosis and acute gastroenteritis, bridging the gap between expected and observed outcomes and leading to translation of scientific evidence to everyday practice.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
