This research focuses on the persuasive language employed by the Council of Europe to disseminate human rights protection by investigating its most recent public campaigns. The main purpose is to highlight and discuss, through an analysis of the discursive strategies of †˜promotion, popularisation and pedagogy' (the 3Ps), the various verbal and visual persuasive tools used by the Organisation in order to reach citizens at every possible level. Due to the complexity of the topic and its socio-cultural implications, the corpus collected has been examined through the analytical and methodological paradigms of Social Semiotics and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA).
