Abstract

Study of the composition of atmospheric particulate PM10 of the city of Naples. Sampling campaign of particulate pollution by gravimetry and optical method OPC. Chemical analysis of particulate filters with objective to have a quantitative determination of the inorganic component ion by ion chromatography, heavy metals by ICP-MS and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) by HPLC. Definition of a meteorological model set to the geographical domain of Naples by WRF (Weather Research & Forecasting Model) and the implementation of a simulation model of the chemical reactivity and transport of the main air pollutants through the program CAMx (Comprehensive Air quality Model with extention ). The project work was conceived in partnership with the authorities of the City of Naples and University of Naples Federico II in order to provide the citizens a tool for the improvement of air quality in the city of Naples.
