To explore and assess the rationale, adequacy and effectiveness of the EU’s policy of conditionality as an instrument for promoting and effectuating change and reform in the specific sphere of rule of law. The terrain of investigation will be the Western Balkans region, namely the following EU aspiring countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia.
