The aim is to analyse the cultural politc in Rome during the third deca of the 19 century, during the pontificate of Leo XII (Annibale della Genga, 1823-1829). The topics are the reuse of ancient marbles in the first hypothesis of reconstruction of the basilica of St. Paul out the door; the reform of the furniture's management in the papal palaces; the censorship of images; the representation of papal sovereignty.
