The present research project focused on two aims. The first concerned the definition and empirical validation of a scale for measuring restorative attitudes, which led to the identification of five fundamental dimensions of the construct. The second aim concerned the assessment of the impact of a restorative justice programme in a secondary school in northern Sardinia. The results of the study indicate that participation in the programme is associated with an improvement in certain dimensions of psychological well-being (e.g., meaning and optimism), a sense of school community, and an understanding of restorative values, as well as a positive change in restorative attitudes. Overall, the research sought to offer new theoretical and empirical contributions to the field of restorative justice, proposing a psychological framework for restorative orientation and demonstrating the educational value of restorative practices
