Global economic disparities and social inequality are linked to an anthropological and educational crisis, a misconception of the relationship with the natural environment, and an instrumental approach to development, which have contributed to widening the gap between those in vulnerable conditions and those in favorable circumstances. This requires a responsible and inclusive forms of development. Pedagogical reflection, supporting lifelong and lifewide education, is engaged to analyse current events in a multidisciplinary way to develop projects in accordance with challenge of ecological transition. This doctoral research project, within the framework of social pedagogy, without any claim to exhaustiveness, aims to explore the connections between sustainability and business, to contribute to the achieve the common good. This work is based on the belief that pedagogy and economics, iuxta propria principia, must meet, connecting their knowledge, to identify respectful business approaches. The research is aimed to explore the relationship between pedagogy, sustainability and engagement, offering a heuristic approach trying to transformate an extractive economy to promote an economy that creates wellbeing for all. This reflective contribution wants to explore, from a pedagogical perspective, the engagement by activating local business networks that involve entities from the public and private sectors, profit, no profit, and for-benefit enterprises, with the aim of creating communities with a high social and environmental impact.
Profonde disparità economiche su scala planetaria e condizioni di iniquità sociale sono legate a una crisi antropologica ed educativa, a un’erronea concezione del rapporto con l’ambiente naturale e a un approccio strumentale allo sviluppo, che hanno contribuito ad ampliare il gap tra chi versa in condizioni di fragilità e chi vive in condizioni favorevoli. Ciò richiede di indirizzare il cambiamento verso forme di sviluppo responsabili e inclusive. La riflessione pedagogica, sostenendo l’educabilità lifelong e lifewide, è sollecitata ad analizzare l’attualità in modo multidisciplinare per addivenire a progettualità che sappiano rispondere alla sfida della transizione ecologica. L’elaborato di ricerca dottorale, nell’ordito della pedagogia sociale, senza alcuna pretesa di esaustività si propone di esplorare le connessioni che legano la sostenibilità al ‘fare impresa’, per contribuire alla coltivazione del bene comune nel segno dell’ecologia integrale. Il presente lavoro muove dalla persuasione che pedagogia ed economia, iuxta propria principia, debbano incontrarsi, porre in connessione i saperi, per individuare percorsi d’impresa rispettosi delle persone e del pianeta. La ricerca ha inteso assumere un carattere esplorativo in ordine al rapporto tra pedagogia, sostenibilità ed engagement nell’intento di offrire un itinerario euristico orientato a trasformare e superare un’economia estrattiva e avvalorare un’economia che crea ricchezza per tutti. Il presente contributo riflessivo intende approfondire, con una prospettiva pedagogica, il tema dell’engagement in ordine all’attivazione di reti territoriali d’impresa che coinvolgano realtà del mondo pubblico e privato, profit, no profit e for benefit, nella prospettiva di dare vita a comunità ad alto impatto sociale e ambientale che superino la tendenza del self interest.
