This thesis details the research activity on the inves- tigation and experimentation of innovative technologies in the Smart Agriculture context. The work overviews the available scientific and technical landscape to propose innovative methodologies for designing, developing, and testing advanced technologies to achieve a functional IoT framework for an industrial system for Smart Agriculture. The research activity has unfolded in multiple subject areas of IoT application, ranging from robotics to Wireless Sensor Networks and telecommunication systems. The dissertation outlines the main findings in terms of pre- liminary research activities, development strategies while motivating the obtained performance level. Finally, the work proposes novel approaches and techniques for each ex- plored sub-domain, showing the possible benefits of future farming.
