This research proposes the creation of an ‘ad hoc’ Conceptual Model Technological Tool (ad hoc CMTT) for the sustainable management of urban metabolism in Puerto Ayora, Galapagos. Focused on residential energy efficiency and the sociocultural dynamics of smallscale protected island environments, the ‘ad hoc’ CMTT is a technological solution designed to address the peculiarities of urban sustainability. The interrelationships between construction, the use of materials with specific energy properties, and the influence of socio-cultural practices in shaping urban metabolism are examined by analyzing the empirical sample. The feasibility of integrating innovative technology to capture, analyze, and visualize data is critically evaluated, recognizing the importance of privacy and information security. The results will be presented through the Galapagos_ EnerBuild Monitor dashboard, facilitating an interactive and detailed visual interpretation of energy and material flows, thus promoting informed decision-making. This integrative approach contributes to advancing policy formulation and implementing regulations that promote sustainable building development in the region. The research lays the foundation for future studies and strategies focused on the sustainability and resilience of small island communities in the face of global challenges such as climate change.
