La tesi esamina i rapporti tra la Corona e la città di Siracusa negli anni 1282-1536, delineando competenze e organigrammi degli uffici civici e illustrando aspetti dell economia e della società che alla gestione amministrativa dell' universitas erano indissolubilmente legati. La tesi è corredata da sette appendici.
