The dissertation tries to articulate a metaphysical and hermeneutical proposal on Proust’s Recherche, in particular on his conception of writing as a transfiguration of existence, otherwise inane and vain, and a redemptive and saving activity. To this end, the work insists on some conceptual lines of the path of Proust’s work, from the false promises of salvation of a certain type of memory, art and friendship, to the phenomenology of love. An attempt has also been made, with a juxtaposition with the Heideggerian analytic of human existence, to trace the coordinates for a possible Proustian Dasein, whose most promising existential seemed to us, on the basis of the Sein zum Tode, the being-for-writing. Together with the discussion of some Gnostic roots and, in the wake of Benjamin, the messianic categorization of Proustian temporalities, a Proustian hermeneutic of pain has been declined, which consists in understanding the painful past by piercing it with the light of intelligence, i.e. the existence which falls back on the past life transforming it into literary writing. Finally, writing, the supreme idea for Proust, has revealed itself as an intrinsic human capacity to redeem wasted time and to return it to a metaphysical form, that of the literary work, in which its author has transfigured himself and redeemed existence from its original sin, the temps perdu.

Abstract
Finally, writing, the supreme idea for Proust, has revealed itself as an intrinsic human capacity to redeem wasted time and to return it to a metaphysical form, that of the literary work, in which its author has transfigured himself and redeemed existence from its original sin, the temps perdu.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
