This study examines the influence of Virgil's Eclogues on Ovid's poetry, in order to point out topics,characters, and expressions which can reveal some virgilian passage as model.The aim of the analysis is to evidence how Virgil's first poetic work conditioned the first generation of Roman authors who could read it at school.
