The dissertation examines the situation of unaccompanied children in Europe and the means of reception by Social Services to demonstrate that the way in which they are treated assumes that they do not have a family. Drawing on instruments of quantitative and qualitative research it is demonstrated that most of the children have made the migration journey in agreement with their family, and maintain frequent contact with them using new information and communication technologies (ICT). Through a reflection on the need for a Best Interest Determination (BID) suitable for minors, the thesis proposes a Shared Transnational Guardianship (STG) as in the best interests of unaccompanied children with a migrant economic project. The STG would be a collaboration between the Social Services in the country of arrival of the child and the family in the country of origin, and would be a form of decentralized cooperation.

Abstract
The STG would be a collaboration between the Social Services in the country of arrival of the child and the family in the country of origin, and would be a form of decentralized cooperation.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
