Claude Cahun. Un pouvoir magique

This research project deals with the whole literary and photographic work of Claude Cahun (1894-1954), in order to give shape to the specificity of the multifaceted cahunian universe, and eventually to lay out an imagination of the work itself about the relationship between word and image, paying particular attention to the narcissistic and iconoclastic pulsions characterizing both the text and the images. Her relationship with her partner Marcel Moore, alias Suzanne Malherbe (1892-1972), is remarkable. Malherbe was a drawer, a stage designer,and a graphic designer. They met in 1919 and together they created a long-lasting artistic and emotional sodality.
