La cotidiana construcción de la imagen del escritor en "La tentación del fracaso" de J.R Ribeyro

In this work we analyze "La tentación of fracaso", the Peruvian writer José Ramón Ribeyro’s diary, and its relationship with the rest of his works, conceived (all these) as a whole in order to create an image of the writer. There are two movements in confluence in the diary: on one side the author's will to represent himself through the process of daily writing in the diary in its development in the time and, on the other side, the success or failure of that desire when the diary is published and is read by the potential readers. From this contrast between the two agents of literary communication, different mirror figures of the writer emerge. In this case, we see an evolution that will lead us from the vision of the young writer as a bohemian in Lima and in Paris and the mature and disappointed writer who dedicates his last years to concentrate his efforts in thoughtful genres. Moreover we have also tried to establish theoretically a definition and a scope of action of the diary genre within the various autobiographical writings.
