This work focuses on two text languages (Old Italian and 17th and 19th century Cimbrian) previosly analyzed as v2-languages in technical sense. After a brief summary of the most important studies of v2 in Western Germanic languages, Old Italian and Cimbrian, the central part of the work summarizes the data directly found in both written traditions. The last part of the work tries to find some interpretations for what Old Italian and Cimbrian text show, leading to a slightly different view of their syntax.
