The doctoral dissertation aims to study the importance of the lawfulness education in Italian schools and to reach a theoretical definition, including a (partial) legality anti-mafia teaching method. Particularly, the research is based on the study of education policies in education legality, by the explanation of events, the historical context and political-institutional frameworks. With a distinction between the national and regional levels, it is examined the semantic lexical change, the different purposes ratified by the legislative measures and the different roles assigned over time and places. The two case studies, taken into account on the national territory, are Milan and Palermo where it is assessed the level of involvement and response to educational policies in legality education and the social anti-mafia movement. Both focuses the didactic-educational path taken by the secondary school institution in order to assess the effects produced among students over the years, since 1980. The first focal point is on the Giuseppe Garibaldi classical high school in Palermo and the second one, on the other hand, examines the Alessandro Volta scientific high school in Milan. To develop the case studies, the qualitative method has been applied. In conclusion, the need of an education policy, perceived as a unicum both nationally and regionally, has emerged. A common starting point where the individual region can enforce its own individual specificities according to its context. To define what we mean by “education to legality” it has been researched a proper answer to this question: the proposal lies in the phrase “educating for anti-mafia-legality culture”.

Abstract
To define what we mean by “education to legality” it has been researched a proper answer to this question: the proposal lies in the phrase “educating for anti-mafia-legality culture”.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
