This doctoral thesis investigates the elements of discrimination that exist within the normative sources of Christian communities in the West Bank. The research analyses the impact of religiously based personal statutes on women in the local communities - in particular the Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant communities. The analysis of the complex legal context of the West Bank aims to highlight both the criticalities present in the positive law itself and the opportunities for change promoted 'from within' the Palestinian Christian communities, in particular the ambitious reform project that has affected the Palestinian Lutheran community in 2014.

The research analyses the impact of religiously based personal statutes on women in the local communities - in particular the Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant communities. The analysis of the complex legal context of the West Bank aims to highlight both the criticalities present in the positive law itself and the opportunities for change promoted 'from within' the Palestinian Christian communities, in particular the ambitious reform project that has affected the Palestinian Lutheran community in 2014.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
