The present work concerns the thought of Brentano and its development till 1867, and it briefly takes in account the period of Würzburg. The works deals with the youth of Brentano, his teachers, i. e. Lasaulx, Trendelenburg and Clemens, and the greatest part of the author quoted by him. Thanks a stay in Graz, at the The documentation centre for the austrian philosophy, i’ve taken vision of the personal library of Brentano and some unpublished papers. Actualy i have here found interesting documents, i. e. the book of Hauréau. With this work I want to show that the thought of Aristotele is very important to understand the psychology and the philosophy of Brentano. For this reason I have analysed the first two books that Brentano wrote, On the manigfold meanings of being in Aristotle, and the Psychology of Aristotle. In this books Brentano set the theoretic grounds of his own psychology and we can also find here the most important topics of his philosophy. I have then takes into account others papers that Brentano wrote in this period, namely the Geschichte der kirklichen Wissenschaften, an article pubblished in the Kirchengeschichte of Möhler, the Habilitationthesen, his paper concerning Schelling, his lecture about Comte, and many papers about history of the philosophy, written around 1867-1870.
