IL COMPLESSO UNIVERSO DEI PICTUREBOOK NARRATIVI. Approcci critici internazionali ed evoluzione storica: studi e ricerche delle aree anglosassone e francese

The aim of this Doctoral Thesis is to highlight, through a historical approach to multi and interdisciplinary research, the historical evolution of picturebooks from the early drawings in the caves and on the bark by Aborigines 40,000 years ago until the Seventies and Eighties of the twentieth Century. The goal is to demonstrate how, a specific element of contemporary picturebook, is a constant interplay between the formal devices and content of the past recovered and reprocessed in the best production of contemporary narrative picturebook, with particular attention to the studies of Anglo-Saxon and French areas, that are considered the most important (taken in consideration also Italian and other areas contributions). It also held an introductory level and defining the theoretical framework, a reconnaissance survey of the different approaches to analyze the picturebook developed at the international level especially from the Eighties of the Twentieth Century and a composite and open definition of picturebook.
