The topic of the thesis rotates around the pigment-binding antenna protein called CP29. This protein is involved in all the main processes that rule photosynthesis and biomass accumulation, that are: light-harvesting, energy transfer, fluorescence emission, energy quenching, and protein-complex assembly. The aim of the thesis is to understand the molecular mechanisms of these processes at different time-scale, from femtoseconds to minutes.

Abstract

The topic of the thesis rotates around the pigment-binding antenna protein called CP29. This protein is involved in all the main processes that rule photosynthesis and biomass accumulation, that are: light-harvesting, energy transfer, fluorescence emission, energy quenching, and protein-complex assembly. The aim of the thesis is to understand the molecular mechanisms of these processes at different time-scale, from femtoseconds to minutes.
