Public sector performance management does not only represent a professional performance measurement system but, actually, aims at integrating the information gathered on performance with personnel evaluation, for what concerns financial functions - such as balance sheets and revisions - and strategic programs. This research aims at discussing, in an explorative manner, some of the implications which the carrying out of the public governance model have on emerging managerial competences and on the organizational needs and public management evaluation areas. In particular, this paper shows how the carrying out of the so called public governance entails a change of the competence and public management evaluation systems and dictates organizational innovations capable of favouring a full administration of the whole accountability cycle.
