Bigness - Il manifesto dei superyacht

The theme of this research stems from the need to illustrate the developments of contemporary yachting in the field of superyachts and, through a multidisciplinary critical analysis, compare the analogies between naval/yachting and urban architecture with a focus on skyscrapers. The analogy between the two behemoths, keeping in mind the physical and temporal difference in terms of design, is aimed at highlighting the similarities that unconsciously exist at the basis; both are the result of creative inspirations intertwined with technological, industrial and social achievements oriented towards the definition of new ideas of living spaces.

Il tema di questa ricerca nasce dall’esigenza di voler illustrare gli sviluppi della nautica contemporanea nell’ambito dei superyacht e, attraverso un’analisi critica multidisciplinare, confrontare le analogie tra l’architettura navale e quella urbana con particolare attenzione al grattacielo. Il parallelismo tra i due colossi, consapevole della differenza progettuale, fisica e temporale, vuole evidenziare le similitudini che esistono inconsciamente alla base; entrambi sono il frutto di stimoli creativi intrecciati a conquiste tecnologiche, industriali e sociali orientate verso la definizione di nuove immagini di spazi abitativi.
