Space, design and its products are the result of criminal acts related to oil power structure. Criminal acts in power structures generate the environments we inhabit; space is the three-dimensional reflection of these structures on the black mirror of oil. Design is defined here as a three-dimensional manifestation of politics and criminal acts related to black gold. Blood and oil are transformed into construction material that becomes building, separation wall, infrastructure, city and in this way crosses political boundaries with its own rules, different from those applied to living humans. From the micro to the macro scale, no space can declare its estrangement from oil, but at the same time it is considered 'untouchable', 'evil', 'dirty'. This thesis interrogates this nexus by attempting to bring to light the connections through which architecture turns out to be intimately connected to the extended exercise of power within changing historical and geopolitical frameworks. The research method is that of criminal investigation, this is applied to the study of space, bringing the investigative methodology into the context of cultural research.
