Theatra tota reclamant. Teatro, retorica e società nell'opera di Cicerone

The primary topic of the dissertation is the relationship between Cicero and Roman repubblica theatre, in particular the fragments of tragedy from III to I century B.C.E. Ideally, the dissertation is structured into two parts: a first one devoted to the analysis and the interpretation of Cicero himself of the aforementioned fragments, which they become part of the ethic and didactic path of Cicero's philosophical works; in the second part I've priviledged a more sociological perspective, so to speak, in the attempt to define what it meants to partake to the theatrical events in republican Rome.

La tesi ha come argomento principale il rapporto tra Cicerone e il teatro romano d'età repubblicana, in particolar modo i frammenti di tragedia risalenti ad un periodo compreso tra il III e il I secolo a.C. La tesi idealmente si divide in due parti: una prima dedicata all'esegesi e all'interpretazione ciceroniana di tali frammenti, re-inseriti in nel percorso etico-didattico delle opere filosofiche dell'autore; con la seconda parte si è invece voluto privilegiare tale rapporto da un punto di vista, per così dire, sociologico, cercando di definire cosa significasse partecipare all'evento teatrale nella Roma repubblicana.
