The thesis demonstrated how insects were voluntarily used by the main philosophes of the time as a metaphor to analyze and denounce their social realities since social insects, especially bees and ants, proved to be so similar to human societies that they became perfect examples through who approach the divine laws in order to cure the ills of human society and bring about general well-being.
