A search for physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is presented. This thesis describes a model independent search for resonances decaying into a pair of quarks and/or gluons which appears in the detector as a pair of hadronic jets. The experimental signature is a bump in the dijet invariant mass distribution close to the resonance mass, over a falling background. Part of the thesis is dedicated to detailed studies on hadronic jets, their energy scale and resolution and the relative correction. The data scouting method is used to extend the search at masses below the TeV. No excess of events has been observed in this channel. Upper limits on the production cross section for resonances decayin into pairs of jets have been set excluding several theoretical models. The results are then interpreted for the dark matter search, where a large region of the phase-space is excluded.
