ASPETTI E PROBLEMI DELLO SVILUPPO ECONOMICO BRESCIANO NEL SECONDO DOPOGUERRA (1945-1964). IL RUOLO DELL'AMMINISTRAZIONE PROVINCIALE

Today the Brescian territory is known as a rich and industrious, province solid and dynamic, rooted in tradition and at the same time capable of profound innovations. Learning about the origins of this prosperity, steeped in the territory, in the light of the role of the Provincial Administration in the phase of post-war reconstruction and in the great development that marked the 1950s, are the main reason for this research project. The second after that war meant a huge nationwide effort to reconstruction, to rebalance the national economy, the beginning of the so-called "Italian economic miracle". This complex framework justifies the growing interest for the period, while the Brescian territory is even more interesting to analyze given the low existing historiography and the abundance of material lying in the archives and not yet explored. The present research is intended as a contribution to the knowledge of the history of Brescian territory of this period and of the relationship between the main action lines of the Provincial Administration and the rapidly changing reality: a twenty-year period, this, stretching from 1945 to 1964 marked by tumultuous changes.
