My dissertation focuses on how the experience of understanding of artistic and architectural patrimony (beni culturali) can be enriched through their diffusion via new technologies. The research has taken form as a set of case studies where criteria were established leading to the choice of two significant Italian examples Renaissance buildings, each with interiors that contain accompanying ensembles of paintings integrated into the physical space where they are present. I describe the development of evaluation processes that lead to the use of different technologies and to collaborations with a wide spectrum of experts consulted in order to bring the case studies to an advanced level of applicability. This technological research was accompanied by studies in the development of content reflecting the art-historical character of the subjects involved. The methodologies of these two aspects, technological and art historical, combine in our final results, embodying the theory to practice nature of Digital Humanities as a contemporary field of study.

Abstract
The methodologies of these two aspects, technological and art historical, combine in our final results, embodying the theory to practice nature of Digital Humanities as a contemporary field of study.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
