The starting point of this research concerns the lack of focus relating to what I believe appears today as the central question for a thought that accepts the qualification of postmodern: such a problem is represented by the forgetting of the ethical issue characterizing contemporary reflections of metaphysical stamp, which, even if they do not consider themselves as exempted from having to deal with the moral topic, content themselves with combining their theoretical post-Nietzschean inheritance with a traditional ethical orientation. The first part of the work is dedicated to the acknowledgment of the need to establish, within Nietzsche's thought, an indissoluble link between the theoretical level and the practical one. I then tried to deepen Nietzsche's unprejudiced questioning of the basis of western culture, verifying the consequences and repercussions that, from Nietzsche's point of view, such a position produced on the ethical side. After having underlined the difficulties in trying to face the moral problem from an unconventional point of view (difficulties which, to some extent, explain but do not justify the lack of discussion of this theme), I tried to formulate a hypothesis about where to find and seize hints and advice for the developing of a post-Nietzschean approach to the problem of ethics. Mindful of the contribution that art has been able to provide to the latest philosophical reflection in regards to the examination of old problems according to renewed outlooks and prospects, I assumed that art could also bring new nourishment to the major question concerning the place of ethics in post-modernity. Through the analysis of a recent French novel, I tried to concretely show that the way to reach awareness of new twists and chances for ethics can be indicated through art. In an age where no more absolute and transcendental parameters exist to guide the practical sphere, the work of art can become a useful tool capable of indicating such world openings from which the ethical physiognomy can be rethought.

Abstract
In an age where no more absolute and transcendental parameters exist to guide the practical sphere, the work of art can become a useful tool capable of indicating such world openings from which the ethical physiognomy can be rethought.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
