Ethnographic study of a community of Slovénsko Roma in north-east Italy carried out by continual fieldwork over a period of more than two years. The world from a Roma point of view is described with their classification of humanity, where the distinction between Roma and Gage and between the living and the dead prevails. The social, parental, political and religious organisation is described, with considerable focus on the cosmology of a minority group that lives in constant tension with the non-Gypsy society in order to maintain its own identity.
