The thesis develops a research of Italian and European literature, focused on some essential bipolar organizational paradigms. Systems of characters, based on a duo, and their dynamic interactions with the complex organism of narrative texts, are analysed. Then, the study move on to look at dialogic relations that involve all the constitutive elements of a narration and, indeed, the relative axiological perspectives. From the period between the late XVIII century and the middle of the XIX century, we have isolated some sample for the analysis: the Mozart-Da Ponte’s work Don Giovanni; the novels of J. Potocki, Manoscritto trovato a Saragozza, and A. Manzoni’s I Promessi sposi.
